Following the speeches, our photographers went back to the kitchen with the catering staff to eat their dinners, and we were being served our appetizers at the same time. Unfortunately, because of this, there are no pictures of the dinner part of our meal. But, I think I can live with that, because the food was absolutely delicious, and I was able to grab some pictures of the food at our tasting.
When the photographers returned, and the meal was wrapping up, it was time for the parent's dances. Our DJ's made the announcement, and I danced with my dad first. I know that I talked with you about song choices before, but I never actually revealed which ones we chose. Deciding against Boston's "Amanda," I had my dad choose a song. He and my mom have been to a few concerts by Darius Rucker, the lead singer in "Hootie and the Blowfish" and love his stuff, and my dad thought that it would be appropriate to choose a song by him.

My dad and I spent most of the dance talking to each other because we knew that if we didn't, and we actually listened to the lyrics as we were dancing, that we would just be crying our eyes out. We were telling each other jokes, and just trying to pass the time with a little less emotion.
I'm so glad that my dad chose this song. It was perfect for the moment, and I now will have a new song to listen to that will always remind me of my dad.
After our dance, it was time for D to dance with his mom. When D was a little kid, he and his dad learned the lyrics to an Aaron Neville song, and sang it to her on Valentine's Day. While the song is really mushy, the two of them couldn't think of a more perfect song to dance to at our wedding. In the months leading up to the wedding, the two of them would just start crying whenever the song was mentioned, so D's mom actually listened to it on repeat the week of the wedding, trying to get all the emotions out before the big day.
And with the parent's dances out of the way, it was time to party on. And party on we did!
