In honor of it finally being Spring around here, at least according to the calendar, I've compiled some bright, fun pieces for your outdoor space. If you couldn't already tell by the title of this week's Flash Sale Friday, Rhody Life is celebrating the Olympics! Dylan and I are so excited that the Winter Olympics have finally started, and we are really looking forward to watching tonight's Opening Ceremonies.  Our favorite event to watch is Curling - not something that you see every day, or something that is readily available to play, but it's such an interesting sport to watch.

This week's Flash Sale Friday has me inspired to finish painting the rest of my house. The green color is similar to the one I will be using in the guest bedroom, so I am looking forward to getting some color up on the walls!  This room also has me wanting to get the craft room set up since that will end up being my primary work space!  

Adding some modern pieces to some more traditional pieces helps to bring a little life into this work space while the gray and green colors work together well to provide a calming effect.  I absolutely love that silver and charcoal gray rug - and it really makes me wonder if the silver really shines in person! Plus, how perfect are those curtains for this space? The dark to light coloring will really make the ceilings look tall and bring some boldness to the windows in the room!

I would love to have a comfortable yet stylish office like this, wouldn't you? I also love the way that the two chairs match without being from the same set. It's really neat how you can find two separate pieces that go so well together in terms of shape, and the two different gray tones really help to bring in some dimension with the space.

And oh my gosh, that Purple Swan Chair! SWOON!!! I have searched for weeks now (literally, at least 4 hours every day) looking for two of those chairs that are both adjustable and swivel, and come in that exact color, but every single one is too expensive. Even this one, but I still love it just as much!

Which chair is your favorite? Other than the swan chair, I'm torn between the Organic Conference Chair or the Lippa Dining Chair!

Which piece is your favorite? I love putting pops of white in rooms, especially in furniture because a white rug would never stay clean in my house, whereas a piece of furniture could always be wiped down.  In fact, I can't wait to to share with you the piece of white I am using in my house!

I think my favorite piece in this collection is the green and silver lampshade. I love that piece, and I think I may just have to buy it. I think it would look great in the Guest Bedroom, especially with the tree decal I am planning on putting on the wall above the bed!

As I mentioned in my IKEA Shopping post, I have been on the hunt for a sideboard for our combination Living/Dining Room.  When I was looking at all of the Flash Sale sites this week, this was definitely a popular piece of furniture, and so many of them were the exact style I am looking for - Mid-Century Modern.  

From slatted fronts to the tapered and angled legs, these pieces are beautiful! And the white-faced one with the swirling pattern on it? I love it!  These pieces would work wonderfully in a dining room, but they could also work really well in a living room, and would be a great place to store all of your media pieces.

A little late on posting today, but I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that you were able to celebrate with family and friends. Now that Thanksgiving is over, and the leftovers are eaten, it's finally time to start thinking about December holidays. I'm a purist when it comes to celebrating holidays - "one at a time" is my motto.  With Thanksgiving being late this year, especially compared to last year, December is right around the corner, and Christmas (our December holiday of choice) is less than a month away, so you better get out all of your holiday decorations and start decking the halls!

I love all the little ornaments that are out there on the sites this week! That little penguin is a must-have, and that owl?! How adorable would that look sitting on a bookshelf or on your fireplace mantle?! He is just so cute!

Light furniture and natural wood tones really help to bring a beachy feel to a living space.  This combination living and dining room has just that feel, with the white and natural fabrics, the seashell detail in the lamp, and the natural wood dining table, which is absolutely beautiful.  The dark blue color lends itself to the depths of the ocean and the paint color, Sherwin Williams Composed is the perfect shade of a light teal for the walls of your home.  All of the natural elements of the space really help to make the room stylish while also bringing in warmth and comfort.

A mirror is a great piece of decor for your home because it really helps to brighten up the space. Mirrors can make spaces look bigger by either reflecting the room and lengthening or widening the space or by reflecting light making the space brighter and more inviting.

The mirror that you choose can be any size. The larger the mirror, the brighter the room will be and the larger it will make your space seem, however, large mirrors don't always work in all spaces.  This week's Flash Sale Friday is featuring mirrors of every shape and size. I've got round mirrors, long rectangular floor mirrors, and even trellis shaped mirrors!  And don't be afraid to put two or more of the same mirror in one space - this really helps to add symmetry to your living area.
